Not bad for 8-11 hours work

The Artesian City website is mostly banged in as to menu structure. I’m sure I’ll find things I want to tweak when I get started on content cleanup, and the whole purpose of moving to Joomla is to add gizmos, but not bad for 8-11 hours of work.

It’s alive

There’s a point in any web project where it seems you have to, like Cortes*, burn your boats. This point came sooner than expected for me. I couldn’t get the zip archive to extract, so I had to upload the tar.gz joomla file to the server and expand it. At that point, while my existing files are still there, the installation takes over the index page functions so the typical user would not know how to find it.

Company website remodel

I’m planning to move my company’s website from a static design (it was designed with php to try to make it easier to update, but it didn’t totally work out that way) to Joomla 1.5.x.  Since we have the long weekend ahead of us, I’m going to tackle it tomorrow.
