Yet another nasty new variant on spam

I just received a spam message that read:

Tom Cruise crashes helicoptor over Pacific ocean; 
body not yet found. (followed by a link)

(and no, as of this writing he hasn’t done so, at least not according to cnn.com, who presumably would have posted a story about same…)

Back in my practical-joke-pulling days (i.e. the last time I had a chance), I found the best way to hook someone was to invoke enough stress that they wouldn’t stop to think. No, I never got this nasty, but let’s just say some of my prank calls involved the IRS. I would never do anything this immature today, of course (whistles)
